Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our grooming services, booking, and policies.
General
How often should I have my dog groomed?
Most dogs benefit from professional grooming every 4–6 weeks, though this varies by breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Dogs with longer coats or those who spend a lot of time outdoors may need more frequent grooming, while short-haired breeds can often go longer between appointments. We’re happy to recommend a personalized schedule during your first visit.
Do I need to stay during the appointment?
You’re welcome to stay, but most pet parents prefer to drop off and pick up. We’ll call or text you as soon as your pet is ready. Drop-off appointments help us work more efficiently and often result in calmer pets, since many animals are more relaxed when their owner isn’t in the room.
What if my pet is anxious about grooming?
We specialize in gentle handling techniques and maintain a calm, soothing environment. For especially anxious pets, we offer shorter “introduction” sessions to build trust gradually. Our groomers are trained to read pet body language and adjust their approach accordingly. We never use force or rush a nervous pet.
Services
Do you groom cats?
Absolutely! We have groomers who specialize in feline grooming and understand cat behavior and handling. We maintain a separate, quiet grooming area for cats to minimize stress. Whether your cat needs a bath, brush-out, nail trim, or a lion cut, we’ve got them covered.
Booking
How do I book an appointment?
You can book an appointment through our website by visiting the Booking page, or give us a call at (555) 123-4567 during business hours. We recommend booking at least a week in advance, especially for weekend appointments, though we do our best to accommodate last-minute requests.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that plans change. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. No-shows may be charged the full service price. Please see our Policies page for full details.
Health & Safety
Does my pet need to be up to date on vaccinations?
Yes — for the safety of all pets in our care, we require that dogs be current on rabies, distemper, and bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations. Cats must be current on rabies and FVRCP. Please bring proof of vaccination to your first appointment, or have your vet’s office send records to us in advance.
Pricing
How much does grooming cost?
Our pricing varies based on the service, your pet’s size, breed, coat condition, and any special requirements. A full grooming package starts at $65 for dogs and $75 for cats. We provide an exact quote before starting any work. Visit our Services page for detailed pricing information.
